Anti-ama is an ayurvedic mix of herbs that helps detoxify the body.
When I was collecting the ingredients, the shopkeeper asked me what they were for.
– All of this is for ayurvedic herbal mix, anti-ama, I said.
– Anti-“amant” (polish word for adorer)??? But why???
I reassured him that I didn’t want to scare away any potential adorers. What I wanted to do with my magic weapon was to purify my body from toxins.
“Ama” means toxins. And even if our body has 3 canals (in an ayurvedic system called srotas) to purify itself from metabolic final waste products, the environment we live in is so polluted that the toxins don’t find the way out and poison us from within. The environmental changes we observe in the last centuries left the human’s body evolution far behind. Toxins in the atmosphere, in water, in food. Omnipresent and constant stress, coffee, alcohol, sugar. It’s ama’s haven.
I would like to share with you dr Partap Chauhan’s recipe for a herbal mix that helps eliminate toxins from the body. It comes from his phenomenal book, Eternal Health. The essence of Ayurveda.
Here it is:
- 1 spoon of ginger powder
- 1 spoon of cumin powder
- 1 spoon of coriander’s grains powder
- 2 spoons of peppermint powder
- 2 spoons of fennel powder
It’s easy to get ginger and coriander’s grains in a powder version already, as for the rest of the ingredients, you need to grind them in an electric grinder or blender. Once you have the powder version of every ingredient all you need to do is to mix it and voila!
Here is the tricky part: for anti-ama to work, it’s not enough to prepare it, you should take it 😉. Twice a day, 1 little teaspoon after a meal with a glass of warm water.
They are just herbs, but, of course, be careful if you have any food allergies. I don’t want anyone to get hurt! Enjoy your detox!
